Safe as Houses Project

Many people would like to know if their house is as secure as it could be, and if there was any help to make things safer. We run a project called ‘Safe as Houses’ with the support of South Lanarkshire Council, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue. This means that you can get a free safety survey along with a selection of free security items where appropriate.

A range of items can be fitted such as door chains, window alarms and peep holes. You will be given a small personal alarm and a timer socket and information on bogus callers etc. Our officer will also look out for trip hazards and assist you to alleviate the risks where possible.

Referrals can also be made to the Fire service to ask them to carry out a fire safety survey including free smoke alarms if necessary.
